Nvidia and the Georgia Institute of Technology announced Wednesday the first artificial intelligence supercomputer designed for student use. At first, only Georgia Tech's undergraduate students will be able to use the computing cluster, which is fueled by Nvidia's enterprise AI software and a "virtual gateway" developed by Penguin Solutions. So far, students have used the supercomputer in just one class — foundations of machine learning — since the beginning of the semester, but Georgia Tech plans to continue scaling usage. Georgia Tech's supercomputer runs on 20 Nvidia HGX H100 systems, which house 160 of Nvidia's H100 GPUs, which are high in demand across the tech industry. For reference, it would take one of these 160 GPUs a single second to come up with a multiplication function that would take 50,000 students 22 years, according to a Georgia Tech release.

65% of startups on Kruze Consulting's platform are paying for OpenAI, up from just 3% when the chatbot launched in late 2022. Back then, OpenAI had an API service that one to three percent of his clients were using, Jones told Insider in an interview. At fintech unicorn CloudWalk, which is building a payments network, a few engineers started using ChatGPT Plus on their own and praising the application on company Slack channels. Indeed, the growing adoption of ChatGPT is creating demand for engineers who are especially savvy at using generative AI to get work done more quickly. "The feedback we got, which is indirectly related to our using AI, is that investors didn't understand how our team has so many clients and has built so much," Siegal said.

"We don't comment on rumors," Kon told CNBC. Although Cohere is often mentioned alongside AI heavyweights like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Microsoft , the startup's focus on enterprise-only chatbots has set it apart. In November, Cohere told CNBC it saw an uptick in customer interest after OpenAI's sudden and temporary ouster of CEO Sam Altman. Cohere's relationships with strategic investors are another area where it differs from generative AI competitors, Kon said. Search, Kon said, is a key piece of generative AI that's getting less attention than other areas.

And I think that's just a testament to the world being really big and messy, and that these systems are still evolving, they're still really in their infancy. That may be a thing that's useful in your work, or maybe a thing that's useful in your life, or it may just be a fun thing – it may just be that you create a funny GPT and it's a cool thing to have. High-level, we always knew that we wanted to have a structure that, at its core, retained the original OpenAI – the OpenAI nonprofit. So that's the first thing to understand, I think, about OpenAI: It's not a normal company in that sense. We have shared that we have an initial board now, and expect to add more board membersWhat's the general mood like at the company right now?

New York CNN —Companies are struggling to deal with the rapid rise of generative AI, with some rushing to embrace the technology as workflow tools for employees while others shun it – at least for now. Some companies are enacting internal bans on generative AI tools as they work to better understand the technology, and others have already begun to introduce the trendy tech to employees in their own ways. Among media companies that produce news, Insider editor-in-chief Nicholas Carlson has encouraged reporters to find ways to use AI in the newsroom. Of the companies currently banning ChatGPT, some are discussing future usage once security concerns are addressed. “I don’t think it’s that companies are against AI and against machine learning, per se.

OpenAI unveiled the new service, dubbed “ChatGPT Enterprise,” in a company blog post and said it will be available to business clients for purchase as of Monday. Before the launch of ChatGPT Enterprise, a number of prominent companies including JPMorgan Chase had implemented temporary restrictions on workplace use of ChatGPT. ChatGPT Enterprise, however, addresses one of the core issues that led to the workplace clampdowns: privacy and security concerns. OpenAI’s announcement blog post for ChatGPT Enterprise, meanwhile, states that it does “not train on your business data or conversations, and our models don’t learn from your usage.”OpenAI did not publicly disclose the pricing levels for ChatGPT Enterprise, instead asking potential business clients to contact its sales team. “We look forward to sharing an even more detailed roadmap with prospective customers and continuing to evolve ChatGPT Enterprise based on your feedback,” the company said.
